<p>Large single flowers up to 13cm (5 in.) across in an exquisite combination from the palest pink through vibrant reds to deep purple. Over 1.2m (ft.) tall, these 'anchor' the cottage garden.</p><p>Direct seed May/June. If starting as transplants, use 10cm (4in) pots so they do not get rootbound before planting out. Sow 5mm deep. Germinates at 20C in 14-21 days. Space 60cm apart, heitht 1.3-1.8m in full sun. Approx. 250 seeds/g.</p><p>Hollyhocks are thougt to have originated in Turkey or Palestine. The name Alcea is an ancient name for a mallow.</p>
