Grow both the green onion and the white bulbs from the same plant. You can harvest green onions about 80 days after seeding and white bulbs about 190 days after seeding. Resistant to cold weather and disease. Start seed indoors in early March and transplant to the garden in early June. Once you have harvested the green onions, transplant the seedling deep into the soil and make a border around the stem, making sure the complete stem is covered with soil.
