Orach has a mild flavour that doesn't get bitter when the plant bolts. Use in salads, cooked like spinach or used as stuffed leaves. Drought tolerant and grows to 4 feet tall.</p><p>Orach is an old kitchen garden vegetable grown by the American settlers. Greeks and Romans used it as an herb to help sore throats and ease indigestion. Italians used it in pasta and the French and English used it as a side dish and in stews and soups.</p>
