Cheer up those grey winter days with the bell-shaped flowers of this popular perennial. Makes a very good edging for larger borders, and the evergreen foliage lasts well through winter. A member of the saxifrage family, the taller flower spikes are held well above the leaves. Height approx 16 inches (41cm).

Scatter seeds where they are to grow when the last frosts are over. Any type of soil is good, try not to overfertilise or you'll get lots of green growth without flowers! Could do with a bit of tidying up of old foliage in early spring, otherwise a very low-maintenance plant.
