The uniform, round smooth-skinned roots are of excellent flavour and deep crimson internal colour. Moneta may be sown earlier than many varieties without the risk of bolting.

For early crops choose a bolt-resistant variety and sow March to early April. For use in summer and autumn make successional sowings of suitable varieties from late April to July. Store roots in dry sand, soil or peat for winter use. A favourite vegetable to add colour to your table.
