Outstanding introduction for overwinter production of evenly sized, smooth, dark leaved `greens`. Very slow to heart, eventually forming compact 250g (8oz) loose heads. Superb winter hardiness and has excellent flavour and bolting resistance. Sow directly during April, thin out or transplant during September. Prefers a moist, rich, well-drained soil. Harvest January to April. Delicious shredded and steamed as a cooked vegetable, sprinkled with black pepper. Makes delicious 'bubble and squeak' during the cold winter months.
