<p>(Family Calycanthaceae) A deciduous, bushy shrub, about 6ft wide and tall (2m). It has aromatic, dark green, oval-shaped leaves and lots of brownish-red flowers from early to mid summer. The flowers are very fragrant, and long, strappy petals.</p><p>It is fully hardy and grows in full sun or light shade. It likes well-drained soil that is moist and fertile. Propagate by softwood cuttings in summer or seed in autumn.</p>
