<p>Old fashioned, stately cottage garden plants in blues, whites and pinks. A true biennial that is planted in the summer and blooms the following spring. These gorgeous plants form a wonderful backdrop in the sun, growing to 1.2m (4ft) high.</p><p>Start indoors, cover lightly. Germinates at 21-29C (70-85F) in 6 to 15 days. It does best in full sun but will grow in half shade or filtered light under a light tree cover as well. Approximately 3800 seeds/g.</p><p>Campanula is derived from the Latin word for 'little bell'. They have many common names, including wild hyacinth, Venus looking glass, Our Lady's Nightcap, Mercury violet, viola mariana, mariets, Coventry bells, bats in the belfry and Lady's thimble. This attests to their wide popularity in many old gardens.</p>
