<p>This perennial has clusters of turtle-head shaped flowers at the top of 3 ft (1m) stems of dark green, lance-shaped leaves. The flowers are pink, and appear in late summer and autumn. The plant spreads to 20in (50cm) wide.</p><p>It is fully hardy. Grow it in partial sun/shade with moist soil. Propagate by seed sown in spring or autumn, or by soft-tip cuttings in summer.</p><p>The latin name is the Greek word for 'tortoise', and refers to the shape of the flowers. C. obliqua is native to the South-eastern US.</p>
