Puree them by soaking peas overnight and adding olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper to taste. With a protein content of over 20%, chick peas are an ideal substitute for meat. They work wonderfully in soups, stews and casseroles. Very easy to grow, this is a vigorous and productive plant that produces about 3 ‘peas’ per pod. Drought tolerant, grows 16-24 inches (40-6-cm) high.
