<p>(Family Iridaceae) This is a genus of summer-flowering bulbs, grown for their orange-yellow iris-like flowers that have 3 large outer petals and 3 small incurved inner petals on branched stems. The leaves form a fan of narrow and sword-shaped.</p><p>These bulbs are only half hardy. Plant outdoors in a warm area such as beside a sunny wall, in well-drained soil. Lift bulbs when dormant and partially dry in the winter. Propagate by seed sown in the spring.</p>
