<p>Around 1850 the Victorian plantsmen succeeded in the hybridisation of the Sweet William into a double flowered form. This duplex strain retained the true sweet scent and became a popular cut flower in Paris and London's Covent Garden from the 1880's. It has a full colour range including bicolours and produces approximately 80% double flowers. Height 22 inches (55cm)</p>
