(Family: Scrophulariaceae) This alpine or rock garden plant forms small clumps (2-3in, 5-8cm) of semi-evergreen leaves with lots of pink, purple or white flowers. The leaves themselves are small, oval and mid-green.

This plant is short-lived but self-sows quite readily. There might be quite a lot of variation among the seedlings, so if you wish to propagate a specific plant, use softwood cuttings in early summer. It is fully hardy, and likes full sun and a well-drained location like most alpines.
