<p>A perennial, groiwng up to 2 ft tall. Pretty violet-blue flowers are held on long stems above clump-forming foliage that turns a lovely russet colour in the autumn. The cranesbill owes it name to a resemblane between the shape of the seed heads and that of the head and beak of a crane.</p>
