Phlox divaricata

Phlox, Blue Phlox / Wild Sweet William

Phlox divaricata

Zones 2-5

Notched, starry petals of blue to lavender-blue over downy-green foliage in April and May. Blossoms change color as they age. Makes a lovely groundcover beneath Azaleas and Rhodies, small trees with the foliage remaining evergreen. Sweet William is one of the backbone plants for the native or wild garden. Use with the Wood Poppy and it's bright buttery yellow blooms.
