(Family Hypoxidaceae) These dwarf tuberous perennials flower during the spring and summer with pale pink or white flowers on slender stems. Each flower consists of six petals that meet in the centre, so the flower has no 'eye', and it is flat and just less than an inch wide. It grows 2-4in (5-10cm) high and spreads only 1-2 inches. It forms an tuft of basal leaves, erect and narrow with hairy surface.
