Constance Spry English (David Austin) rose

Rosa hybrid English (David Austin) 'Constance Spry'

Zones 2-5

Although generally used as a very large shrub, it can also be one of the most glorious of all climbers. A beautiful rose in the old fashioned style. Large, clear, bright pink, very full blooms with a myrrh-like perfume. Copious gray-green foliage. . VD-VF-16'x10'. Note: Constance Spry has survived two very cold winters in our garden with no protection (Temp. of -25F) Each winter it only had 6 inches of die-back from the tips of the canes. We still recommend protection in prairie climates. As it only blooms once we recommend planting a Clematis at the base for it to take over after the rose is finished. As a climber it is well worth growing.

Please refer to page on Rose cultivation.

Developed by David Austin in England, 1961.
