<p>Greyish green foliage and white flowers in July-August. In spite of its name, which refers to the balloon-like calyx, this is a most decorative plant. The leaves can be eaten in salads and the young shoots in early summer are delicious lightly cooked with butter. Habitat: grassland on light soil. Ht low.</p>
