<p>Western Red Cedar is the official tree of British Columbia. It can live for 800 years or more, and can reach heights of 60m (200 ft) and diameters of 5 m (16 ft). The wood and bark was used for centuries by aboriginal peoples and has been called the 'tree of life' and the 'cornerstone of northwest coast native culture'.</p>
